Strip clubs are a great place to go unwind and have some fun, if you behave yourself. Strip club etiquette varies slightly from strip club to strip club but there are a few basic ones that everyone club has. Strip club etiquette can be hard to understand since it is not something that is written down until now. I have logged many hours in the strip club and have had a few friends that were strippers so I know a thing or two about what really makes them mad. Read on to know the right and wrong because the last thing that you want is a ticked off stripper that has a 6 inch stiletto as a weapon.

Rule #1: This is not a singles bar

That is, unless you are referring to single dollar bills. Strip clubs are not the place to meet a girlfriend or otherwise. Strippers are there to work and make money. Just because they are mostly naked does not make them an easy lay. The last thing that they want is a man that is trying to ask them on a date. The only person that should do the asking should be the dancer. Consider yourself lucky if she does because strippers are usually very leery about dating customers.

Rule #2: You touch and you are tossed

This is the most important and basic etiquette rule for a strip club. You should never touch a stripper when she is dancing or otherwise. I have seen many a man that cannot resist the temptation to reach out and touch that bouncing ass in front of them. This will either result in you being removed out of the strip club or being assaulted by an angry stripper. You do not want to have to explain to friends or your wife why you were beat up by a girl.

Rule #3: Stick with one girl at a time

If a stripper has taken the time from her rounds to sit down with you and have a conversation, give her the respect of turning other dancers away while she is there. If she leaves to use the bathroom or something, you can bet that another dancer will be in her chair before it gets cold. Use strip club etiquette and say no to the other strippers. They see you spending money and just want in the on the money. It is rude and will get you on the stripper's bad side quick.

Rule #4: Tip at the stage

This is another very important etiquette rule to know so pay attention. If you sit at the chairs along the sides of the stage, than you need to tip when the dancer approaches you. If you do not want tip during the stage dance than you should not sit at the stage during them. Pretty simple, right? I have seen this etiquette rule broken many times and it really makes the strippers upset.

Rule #5: Tipping is not by choice

If you step foot in the strip club, you are required to do at least a little tipping during your stay according to etiquette rules. For example, if you go to the strip club for an hour and only purchase yourself drinks than you are only giving the bar money and the strippers are dancing for you for free. Would you work for no paycheck and be happy about it?

Rule #6: Be Polite

General etiquette applies in the strip club as well. There are many different strippers in the strip club at one time and there is a reason for this. Strip clubs realize that men are attracted to a variety of women. If a dancer approaches you that is not your cup of tea, you should nicely say no thank you. It is also important to note that you should not gossip or put down another dancer to the one you are speaking. It is not only tacky but rude as well.

Rule #7: Bring your wife or girlfriend

Strippers actually like it when you bring in your girlfriend or wife. It is refreshing for them to be able to see another female out in the crowd. However, it makes things tense if she is uncomfortable or confrontational. If the woman is ready to leave or does not want to be there, please take her home. It makes everyone uncomfortable, dancers and patrons included. You can always come back later.

Rule #8: Do not get drunk

This etiquette rule brings to mind an incident that happened of my first visit to a strip club. A middle-aged man was sitting at the stage and could not even sit in his chair because he was so drunk. He was also grabbing and being rude to the strippers so the bar called his mother to come take him home. She had to come into the strip club and help him out. Apparently, this was a reoccurring thing at this particular strip club with this person. Getting drunk not only makes you obnoxious but also will make you loose with the cash. Following this etiquette rule will keep you from waking up at home (or an alleyway), with no money and a bad hangover.

Rule #9: Have a conversation

Strippers are great listeners and can be great to talk with. As long as you pay her a little bit here and there for her time, most strippers would love to sit and chat. Not about sex or being naked but about day-to-day problems or funny stories. However, she does have to keep making money so do not be offended if she has to move on to another if your cash flow dries up.

Rule #10: Ask before doing something

Each strip club and stripper has his or her own set of rules. If you are unsure about anything, ask the dancer. You may feel somewhat stupid for doing so but the stripper will respect you for asking first. I knew one stripper that allowed customers to touch her leg at the knee or below but her friend allowed no touching at all. Do not assume that strippers are a certain way or allow certain things.

These ten rules are the most important strip club etiquette rules that any patron should know. Following these etiquette rules will earn you respect from the dancers and they will be more willing to open up to you. This will only make your night out at the strip a lot more enjoyable.
